Have you ever...

Ever have one of those moments where you do something and you can't believe you just did that?! I totally had one of those today.

Here's how it went:

After I dropped C off at pre-school, I made my way to Walmart. We were completely out of food and I thought it was the best way to utilize my time, especially since I only had one child with me. So, to Walmart M and I went.  He was so good for me in the store. He did have one very LOUD moment (all because he wanted a batman bag, which of course was no where to be found). We made our way through the grocery store in just an hours time -- PERFECT! I was right on schedule and would have enough time to get home, unload the car, get gas, and pick up C and her friend from school. Well...  I got a little hiccup.

See, I loaded the back of my vehicle with the groceries, then I buckled M into his carseat. I then proceeded to lock the car doors (all but the drivers side door) since I had to go put the grocery cart back at the cart return area. I realized that it was just too far of a walk so I figured I'd just leave the cart in front of my car. As I went to open my car door, I noticed it was locked... along with all the other doors. UGH! How could I do this? I just locked my car with the keys in the ignition, my purse and cell phone in the front seat AND my two and a half year old son in his carseat. Stupid Stupid Stupid!

There was a nice gentleman who asked if I needed help and I told him what had happened. He offered to stay with the car as I ran inside to call for help. I hesitated for a second and then figured that the car was locked and M would be okay. So, I quickly ran inside, call my husband who then said he'd call our neighbor. I ran back to the car as soon as I got off the phone and proceeded to just wait for help to arrive. In the meantime, M was losing patience and was screaming. To make matters worse, he had a dvd playing, however, it was on the menu screen and he couldn't reach the "play" button. So, he was hardly amused by the menu screen. :(

A few people walked by and offered help and said that I could just call the police and they'd be able to unlock the car. So, as one of the ladies was searching for her cellphone, another lady walked up and said that I could use hers. (thank goodness for nice people!) I called the police and they said someone would be around shortly. Whew! Help was on the way!

After about 10 minutes of waiting, the police came to my rescue and unlocked the car with ease. They really don't make it hard for criminals to break into cars. 3 easy steps and my car door was opened!

And that was the moment that I had today that I couldn't believe had just happened to me.

Oh and if you were concerned how I was doing on time... I made it home in time to get the groceries put away, hopped back in the car to get gas and then made it to the preschool on time! What a morning!!!
