Making way

When we moved, I had everything set in my mind of what I needed to complete. Find a pediatrician, find a dentist, transfer from Bank A to Bank B, find a preschool for my daughter and so on and so forth, but little did I know that when I arrived that everyone would be on Christmas break and nothing would reopen to a normal business day until January 3rd. Talk about frustrating, but I feel as if I am making way now.

January 3rd, I called a preschool and they said that they had room for just one more. I hurried up, got all three of us dressed, fed and was out the door and on my way to this said preschool. I knew this was the place I would be sending my daughter the moment lady at the desk said hello. I just got that warm feeling. That welcoming feeling. That "We want your child to attend our school" feeling. SOLD!

We got a quick tour, saw the daily schedule that the kids follow - loved that prayer was part of their routines! I got the paper work filled out while I was there and C would be starting the following day. C was soooo excited! She kept referring to this school as her new "Kid's World!"

Later that day, we ran out to the store and bought a new school backpack and lunch box. I loved seeing how excited my little girl was. She told me that she gets to meet new teachers and new friends. I hope she is always this excited about new experiences!

Yesterday, was her first day of school. Typically, the parents do a car line-up outside and the teacher gets each child from the car, but with it being C's first day, I parked the car and walked her inside. Right away, the teacher introduced herself as Ms. Kim and showed us where C's new cubby would be and introduced C to a little girl who surprisingly lives down the street from us. The cute little blonde haired girl said to C, "I've seen you outside playing in the neighborhood!" and then that little girl took C's hand and showed her around. It just about melted my heart knowing that C already had made a friend and that this new friend lives just a street away.

Now that C was in school, I had my little boy all to myself for five hours! Now, normally a beautiful Florida day would easily make for a perfect park day, but this day was a very cold day. Now, now, don't you go rolling your eyes about Florida's cold weather being anything but cold. It's so cold outside that the bushes and plants outside are all covered up with sheets.  (and we are going on day 3 of it being like this) So, the boy and I ended up going to the mall (an hour before the stores opened) and we played in the kids play area. He loved it! I think the best part of his experience was going into the Disney Store and loudly ooohing and aaahing over every single thing he saw. He had the Disney store employees laughing! :)

I certainly enjoyed my one on one time with my little man!
