When you have a brand new baby in your arms, you never expect those oh-so-frequent sayings of "enjoy them while they're small, because it goes by fast" to be true. My brand new baby isn't a baby anymore. She's not even an only child anymore. No, my baby, my very first baby just crossed another miletstone in her life. Another milestone that, excuse me... I'm getting misty-eyed as I type this.... another milestone that came way too quick. Who knew I'd be this emotional?! Man, I can barely see the computer screen in front of me. Proud?! ya think? I'm a very proud momma because this milestone was my daughter graduating from pre-k! Yes, proud is exactly what I am (as a single tear rolls down my cheek) She's 5 years old. Five. Clearly not a brand new baby, but still a baby as she's not quite a kindergartener yet. But, boy is she eager to be. She's having a hard time being patient and enjoying this summer break that we have.

My baby girl graduated pre-k on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. Her ceremony was a full cap and gown ceremony with a walk up on stage, shake hands and accept the diploma with the other ceremony. A ceremony that had a slide show of pictures of all the preschoolers who were graduating together. As that slide show rotated through a series of photos a song was playing in the background. A song where it was a child singing and the words hit me and I teared up. I didn't expect that, but I kept those tears from falling onto my cheeks. The words I remember of the song were along the lines of, "We are only little for a little time so let us be little."
My little girl, my baby girl, Caymin graduated preschool. As her name was called, she shook her teachers hand and accepted her diploma and sure enough, Caymin hugged her teachers. We (Joey and I) knew she'd do this. It's just her personality. I'm so proud. WE are so proud.
Afterwards, all of the preschoolers lined up on stage and were singing songs. Adorable songs. Songs that I was able to sing along too because I heard Caymin singing them at home after she'd come home from school. It was cute. The best one was the Florida Alphabet. Just adorable.
I cannot believe my little girl is going to kindergarten in the fall. Wow! I wish I could freeze time because before I know it, she'll be graduating from elementary school...
