I'm sure that sounds bad. Of course, I interact, but I want to do more with them. I want to sit down with my kids and create fun memories. I want to sit down with my kids and make art. I want to sit down with my kids and do projects weekly! Maybe even daily!
A few days ago, I had them make pumpkins using paper plates and they had a blast. Who knew how much fun a cheap ol' paper plate, crayons, scissors and glue could be! After seeing their joy, I made a commitment to myself to interact with them more.
My next project I wanted to keep with the fall theme. I printed off a bare tree for each of us with our names at the bottom (don't need to cause any fights on who gets what paper -- I'm thinking smart!) I grabbed my stamp pad stash and told the minis that they were to create leaves on the branches using only their finger tips.
What a fun project this turned out to be!
