It's ours -- err, I think anyways.

So, as many know, we've been on the hunt for a house. I've seen this one particular house pop up on multiple realtor sites and I just wasn't sure about it. One, it's been on the market for over two hundred some odd days and two, it's on a street that I was previously on when looking at another house. I just never persued it. No real reason, really. It's a 4/2/2. Why would I skip this house? I can't honestly answer that question myself. Perhaps, I figured that there must be something wrong with it for it to still be on the market. I believe a week ago it was listed at $99k and just a few days ago it was dropped to $89k. What a deal, right?!

So, we added it to our list of homes to see. It's kind of drab on the outside, but any coat of paint could spruce it up. The house was beyond cluttered, so much that it turned me away. The paint choices inside the kitchen and master bath are hideous -- look at the pictures, you'll see!

Here's the outside of the house. Not bad, but nothing shouts out -- OMG, you're it! So, let's move onto the inside, shall we? As soon as you walk into the front door, the garage door is but inches away. (to the left of the front door) Not a big deal, but kinda close. And this is the view from the front door.

It's an oversized living room (at least that is how it appears that they have it laid out.) The walkway that you see in the back is the kitchen and eating area. Behind the chair is a sliding glass door that leads out to the patio and backyard.

Over here is another view of the living room. Lovely wood burning fireplace and right next to it is the master bedroom. Of course, I dislike that because I would not want my room to be right there off the living room. The tv is right there and the couches all face that direction. Sure, easy fix -- turn the room around, but eeeh.

Inside the master (no picture of that, sorry) it is pretty spacious. I likey. They had a king size bed in there, two nightstands an armoire and tall dresser and a long dresser with mirror. Big furniture and still room to walk around. To the right of that is the master bath and walk in closet. Brace yourself for the neon green walls. WTF!? Anyway, space is larger than any bathroom that I've ever had so I'm pleased. Big garden tub, but it's not separate from the shower. Decent size closet, but not huge. On the other side of the master is a doorway which then leads to another door and that's the office. The only way to get to the office is by walking through the master. Not bad, but not ideal. That means any guests who stay the night will have to walk through our room to get to it. Major annoyance on my part! However, there is a door just outside the master and office that leads to the patio.

Now, back out into the living room and into the oog-gully kitchen. I dislike everything about this. From the color to the cabinets to how they made an oversized pantry and practically shoved the fridge on top of the cabinets. But knowing that my parents work for a company who does cabinetry -- it's fixable!

There is also another sliding glass door in the kitchen that also goes out to the patio. Yes, that's three doors all leading to the same place. And then there's the backyard. Pretty good size for a Florida home. It even extends when you pass the office (that's the part of the house that you see in the photo) Not bad, I say.

So, we saw it yesterday and hubs saw the potential. Did I? Of course not. So, we go to look at another house just down the street and around the corner. Same exact floor plan - except it didn't have an office, since that was an add-on.

This house, wow... upgrades and pretty and spacious (since it lacked a lot of furniture) Could I see the potential in this one? Of course I could because it was practically empty. So, after seeing house #2, hubs wanted me to go back to house #1 to see what he sees. Okay, now I see. If we did this project here and took out this door and made the house extend out here, then yes, I'd be happy. Push come to shove, we'd eventually make a solid wall where the master bedroom doors are and have the other entrance by the office be the main entrance to the master. I see it now!

So, we figured we'd be okay to wait until Saturday to come back to this house with my Dad so that he could see if the projects that we want to tackle are actually in fact tackle-able.

Uh oh! <This is where the side effect of someone gasping would come into play) The other morning an investor put an offer in on the house. Son of a b*tch! Now, we've got to get the ball rolling. Hubby's at work -- of course. I had lunch plans at noon -- had to cancel those. Our realtor sets up an appointment lickity split at the house and my dad and I go (along with M) I show my dad everything that we'd want to do. See, if my dad thought the house was a great catch, then that was our "let's make an offer" mark. So, we made an offer.

The investor apparently offered cash but made a low-ball offer. So, we offered full price. Fingers crossed. The paperwork has all been filled out and sent back and we've given them 24 hours to respond. More fingers crossed.

24 hours later plus an additional 3 days (something wrong with that math, huh?!) We finally get the notice that that the owners accepted our offer. Yay! Now we must wait to see if the bank will all. Dun dun duuuuuun!

This could take 2 weeks or it could take a year. Oh, how I love that it's such an open window.

So, there ya have it. Now.... we wait.
